AN Sunday Study: Advent Unbound
November 28, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am
Advent Begins Today Fireside Room or via Zoom @9:15 a.m.
We will be using the Advent Booklet – Advent Unbound AN ADVENT COMPANION TO PADRAIG O TUAMA’S “POETRY UNBOUND”
The story of incarnation is the story of all of us being born in the image of the sacred – something very good – because God says so from the very beginning of creation. We come from the heart of God’s imagination – the source of all integrity, possibility, cracks and courage. Therefore the Christmas story, along with all of Jesus’ ministry, prompts/challenges us to take courage – proclaim a much broader view of “Holy Family,” and adopt all into the wider circle of God’s love.
Families increasingly look different, just as Jesus’ family and those he shared a table with did. This Advent IPC will imagine setting a more generous and wider table, redefine Holy, claim all families as Holy, set aside for a purpose: a morality of welcome, inclusion and justice, proclaiming peace and acknowledge the sacred that already exists amongst us.
