Armchair Pilgrimage
November 11 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Often, a pilgrimage is a journey to a place with special spiritual significance – Jerusalem or Mecca, for instance. A pilgrimage can also be a journey undertaken with mindfulness and intention. Our IPC pilgrimages explore areas of our IPC campus, with pauses for prayer, song, a bit of poetry, and reflection.
An Armchair Pilgrimage will take place on Saturday Nov 11. This Pilgrimage will stay in one place…..Fellowship Hall! Beverages and snacks will be available starting at 12:30 pm, and the Pilgrimage will officially begin at 1:00 pm. Presenters will use a microphone for good sound quality. This Armchair Pilgrimage should conclude around 1:45 with a time for sharing personal stories and memories about our IPC campus. There’s unlimited capacity for the Armchair Pilgrimage. Just show up!
The IPC pilgrimage was created in 2009 for the 100th anniversary of the construction of our beautiful building. Factual information came from old church newsletters, newspaper articles, and other documents from the basement of the church manse.
We walk about the IPC campus in a small group, pausing in certain areas. The distinctive nature of each stop is used to invite the pilgrims to reflect. Folks will hear some history, a little poetry maybe, some reflection questions, then we’ll say a short prayer and sing together as we walk to the next “stop” on the pilgrimage. We have a guitar player and song leaders to help us with that. This continues for 7 or 8 stops and we end up in the sanctuary. Folks can stay and reflect there as long as they like.
