Jazz on J Street: the Brian Kirk Quartet

This concert is a tribute to the late Jazz vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson. Percussionist and bandleader Brian Kirk is a very complete musician!

When Brian Kirk was part of the New York City Jazz scene he played drumset with such Jazz legends as Dizzy Gillespie, Bobby Hutcherson, Jessica Williams and Joe Henderson. He also played in the orchestra pit in a lot of Broadway shows in NYC. He has played percussion with the St.Louis Symphony, Baltimore Symphony and the Miami Symphony.

Brian Kirk earned his bachelor’s degree in music from the California State University, East Bay and his master’s degree in music from New York University. He runs the music program at Seattle Central Community College.
