Sierra Service Project

July 21, 2019 - July 27, 2019

A team of 8 youth and 4 adults from Immanuel, representing CYFM and Mission and Peacemaking, will be traveling to the Spokane Indian Reservation for a service trip with the Sierra Service Project organization. During this week, the team will work on mostly carpentry projects to help increase the accessibility of buildings with wheelchair ramps, porches, stairs, and awnings. As we consider what it means to provide “a place at the table” for everyone, especially those who have been historically marginalized, we will think about how the trip impacts our faith and our expression of empathy. This is the first service trip for these youth, so we also hope to have fun!
