The Detention Lottery – A Play
March 28 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An Immersive Theater Experience Set in a US Immigration Detention Center
Immigration attorney Margaret O’Donnell developed the script, and immigration attorneys will play the roles of attorneys, judges, ICE officers, and guards. Our goal is to promote greater understanding of our immigration enforcement system, and empower participants to stand up for immigrant protections and rights. The Detention Lottery provides an in-depth look the detention processes of ICE officers, and courtroom proceedings. During the performance, you (or your randomly selected fictional family member) may be “detained”, and have your merit for relief from deportation determined by an immigration judge. Get ready for an unique immersive and educational theatre experience.
Based on the real experiences of immigration attorneys from Seattle.
This performance IS NOT suitable for younger audiences, but may be appropriate for middle school students and older. Parental discretion advised.
Refreshments at 7 p.m.
