Immigration and Refugee/Asylum Issues: Join the group that helps organize and deliver donations to Riverton Park UMC in Tukwila. Volunteer to help immigrants with job applications at Thrive International. Volunteer with hospitality at AID NW.

Housing and Food Insecurity: Prepare and serve breakfast on a Sunday morning at Urban Grace Church, Saturday dinner at the Tacoma Rescue Mission, and meals at Bryant Neighborhood Center. Provide lunches and snacks for Habitat for Humanity volunteers. Join the Emergency Food Network Hunger Walk the first Saturday in May. Join Associated Ministries Coldest Night of the Year Walk. Contribute to our IPC 12 Days of Christmas, which provides food gift cards to local elementary schools during Winter Break to families in need.

Neighborhood Improvement: Join us as we support Bryant Neighborhood Center in community meal preparation, tutoring students and back to school events.

Gun Violence Prevention: Join our Gun Violence Prevention Group as it discerns the most effective ways to prevent gun violence.

LGBTQiA+: Provide meals for youth and staff at Oasis Youth Center. Volunteer at the IPC Tacoma Pride booth.

Political Advocacy and Awareness: Join and attend Faith Action Network (FAN) events. Participate in legislative action Zoom calls during session. Participate in the new effort to unite churches and unions around issues of mutual concern such as worker rights and childcare.

Meaningful Charity Book Club: Participate in group discussions around how to make a positive difference in our charity and justice work.

 

Supply Drives

Heifer International: Bring your receipts from Stadium Thriftway for our collection plate year round. Stadium gives us 1% of our collected receipts to support IPC's mission work. We use all the proceeds to support Heifer International. Stadium Thriftway is located at 618 North First Street.

Heavy Winter Coat & Sleeping Bags: During the month of October we collect heavy coats and sleeping bags for the homeless. We donate them to Nativity House for distribution to those in need at their shelter and those who choose not to come in.

Riverton Park United Methodist Church: We support the many asylum seekers and refugees being housed at Riverton Park UMC through in-kind donations of items they need to exist. Contact the church for the most recent list of items needed.
